Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March in 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut EP titled Pho in October of 2016 when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded songs online in the year 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 five Finger Discount. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her own single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to join him in collaboration for Rihanna's remark. In the following year, her music circulated throughout Dreamville. It was announced on the 8th of December she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. The 21st of October, 2016, her Pho EP was released. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared in 2018 in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on the 16th of July in 2018. A music video was then released in September. Then, on the 9th of November the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013, she released No One, and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made an appearance as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was accompanied by a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 that surpassed three million views on YouTube within the first week. The singer was a part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
